Loopty Lou~ Burlap Wreath

Here is my first ever burlap wreath.  I am naming it the.......
"Loopty Lou Burlap Wreath." I know a few months back there were many MANY floating around blog land, originally starting with JenJen of TatorTots and Jello... THIS IS MY VERSION. I had no idea what I was doing, and I just went with it.
angle shot!
first you will start by wrapping a fairly large piece of cut burlap around your Styrofoam wreath. Just hot glue where you start and finish. Or where need be. ;)
I used my scissors to rough up the edges of the paper. Just gently rub the scissors along the paper shaving away at it.
to make the fabric look more gathered, I would add hot glue to the piece it would be glued to, and then after a few seconds... (its hot glue) I would pinch the material around the hot glue and it would gather it up.
I used Jute to thread through the button wholes. Then I just tied it in a knot, and hot glued it to the flowers to complete the look.
FLOWERS up close....
you will just loop and hot glue. I gently pressed down on the area I glued. My fingers had lots of dry hot glue to pick off when I was done.... YIPPIE!
semi angle shot!
Now I will admit I am not un-happy with my FIRST ever burlap wreath, but I am not jumping to the moon and back either. I am however, pleased and that matters.

Mod Podged Napkin Styrofoam Damask balls

Visit thecsiproject.com

Here are all the tools you will need, including your hands. ;) I also kept a damp cloth near me to wipe of sticky hands and fingers.... Mod Podge is messy, fun but messy.... or should I say sticky!
I found my napkins at Target a few weeks ago, in the party supply section. I grabbed them right away! I am on a damask kick right now. Start by cutting most the napkin, only leaving the damask design. For me I didn't want a chunk of just black showing... you can do what you like.
You will need an extra strip because the larger piece won't cover the ball thouroughly.
Here is the strip I used to go over the entire ball it should be somewhere down the center of the ball, covering the gathered spots that were exposing the styrofoam.
let them dry... and half way between drying.... or when you feel like it... rotate them so the napkin doesn't stick to the plate. If it does tear (it did for me) cut another piece of napkin and mod podge it over the tear.
All finished...damask "Napkin" covered styrofoam balls!
Three went in my metal bowl on my coffee table......
and one went on in my apothecary jar with some other balls.. See my damask Walmart ribbon... I tied that around the lid.

my daughters Mod Podged table

I picked out girly paper months ago and mod podged my daughters table in her room. I have never really gotten great pics. which is why I haven't blogged it sooner. I said OH' well and uploaded these ones that were taken back when I did it in Jan. I just mod podged the table, then the back of the paper, then one last coat over the paper. All the colors go with her room. It was sure fun to do, not to mention adding a bit of whimsy as well. I HEART MOD PODGE!
Her tv does cover most of it, but to me its still cuter with the paper on it.
everything looks better....... when it's "Girly-fied!"

Spring Wreath!

I was tired of the long wide stick swag I had on my door w/ the "L" hanging from it. So I took the swag off and hung it inside with cute damask ribbon tied to it... tbc on that one. Anyhoo, I had a twig roll that I cut in half and then I simply took the berry swag that was hanging above my door before, and wrapped it around the twig roll. I just tied the polka dot ribbon around the two to keep them together. Then I tied the same polka ribbon around the letter "L" I fluffed some of the berry twigs here and there. SO EASY!
This "L" ~ for Larsens~ I painted white and glazed for a shabby look. Then added polka dots and glued ribbon and burlap to it.
It took me 2 maybe 3 minutes to put this baby together. Oh' and the "L" was already made, some of you have seen it. Check my labels to learn more. ;)

Tissue Pom balls and flower vases

Lots of us may or may not have seen tissue paper pom balls. You can find a full tutorial on them HERE!

I made tissue balls and tissue ball flower vases for a baby shower I threw this past Saturday. To make the tissue balls you will need to watch the tutorial first. Then once they are made you simply stuff it down in the top of a covered photo paper roll.
I got this very thick heavy duty photo paper roll from a Photography Studio... YOU can ask the owners if they will sale them to you or if you can have them. My friend showed me THESE emptied photo paper rolls and told me how her friend made a flower arrangement with them for a wedding. I new I could do something with it, so she gave it to me.

Cover the photo paper roll in tissue paper, by simply rolling the photo paper roll in the tissue paper. Tape or use glue dots to seal it. I didn't mod podge it on, because I wanted to recycle it again. However, you could mod podge tissue paper or scrap paper to them.
for a medium sized tissue pom ball cut about 3-4 inches off one end. Use the rest.
for a small tissue pom ball cut directly up the middle. Only use one half.
all made. These ones I hung up.
Here is one all finished and up close! The stork was cut out from my cricut from the Lyrical Letters cartridge "Spring" button!
Here are the tissue flower vases all finished and on display on my entry table. The prego pic. and the flower pic. were made by whole punching a whole with a whole puncher in the card stock. Then you simply run a kabob skewer through the card paper and tape it on the other side. Then I just stabbed and pushed it into the tissue ball flower. The prego pic. the mom to be gave me and the flower... was in a package of party stuff at the dollar store.
Here are the ones I hung up above the food table for the baby shower.
Most have seen them hanging from something. I hung them up in my daughters room after the shower.
