I love to visit my local towns thrift store(s) and spend as long as I can looking at everything and even things with potential. I have been wanting an OWL FOR SOMETIME either to have out all the time or for Halloween......
and.....EEK-I scored. The gal at the store had the perfect one in their basement hidden behind a picture and under a table.... HE IS HUGE like a foot and half and was $ 10.00 bucks... now HOOT doesn't love a great find and a great price?
He wasn't very purdy to begin with...... BUT' that is what spray paint is for. I used Krylon glossy white and Krylon triple thick crystal clear glaze. I think he is a behooty now.

What!? That is absolutely AMAZING! I need to remember that anything can be painted when I am out looking for antiques. :) Definitely KIDLESS! ;)

I didn't realize how big the owl was until you were holding it. Lol It looks much better with a fresh coat of paint because those colors before weren't that great.

Oh my God! My mom and dad have that same owl {pre white paint} sitting in our living room at home. Neat idea of painting it{although my mom strangely likes it as is lol}

He looks great in WHITE! :) Very vintage in the before pic, but it's also something my grandma would have in her home...and i think she does in gold and shiny other colors..lol~ But the white is very chic and classy! Love It!~
