{{SEW CUTE}} Embelished Skirt and Top

So as you know I just got a Singer Sewing Machine and am a NEWBIE, ROOKIE, SCARDY CAT- sewer. I have been having lots and lots of fun with "Miss Susie Sew" I have gained another BFF aside from Susie Sew... her name is 

"Seam Ripper Rosie" HA! She really truly knows how to give me a hand and has been a great friend.

So I did a little back to school shopping with my mom yesterday and lunch of course. We went to Target (heart) I picked up Miss Priss a cute green $3.89 clearance top and a denim looking puffy skirt for $12.99. My mom suggested I embellish the top so I was all for that. Once I watched a YouTube video on how to make a ruffle, I dived right in. I still have not boughten colored thread so its all white, but I don't mind that extra layer of dimension. I was tickled when I remembered I had denim patches so I cut out heart shapes out of them, did a small ruffle to the corner of the two and ironed them on. 

HERE ARE SOME PICTURES. This is one of Miss Priss's birthday gift's too.

 The ruffled flower was made by creating a long ruffle and then rolling it in sections and adding a stitch in different areas until it was all finished and rolled. Then I stitched it on the skirt in a few areas as well.

 

 

I AM SO TICKLED WITH THIS PROJECT. I am surprising myself at what I am able to make on the sewing machine. I am so loving it. Maybe by the time I am 50 I will BE GREAT!

Strawberry Shortcake-goodie bag treats

 I am working on finishing up details for miss priss's party Monday evening, tomorrow I will be doing some more, and on Monday making the sweet fun treats... for the P-ARTY!

COM Fashion Friday More Diva Delish

Hi GUYS for those of you who don't know, and don't see my FB status's I have now Added and will continually add Hair clips to the shop. This is WAAAAY more versatile as you can clip them in your hair with or without a head band. The headbands are {{free}} with any of your clip purchase. Just specify XS, S, M, OR LG.

UMMMMM "HELLO"... I adore my SINGER SEWING mAcHiNe ITS 

"SEW FANTASTIC"

I have crossed over the threshold into SEWING- EEK! My mil was a complete generous dear and just bought me a sewing machine, i know CRAZY NICE RIGHT? I LOVE HER TO DEATH!

So the lovely man in brown delivered it on the 21st. Love that man in brown. My mil said I am going to be hooked.... but I so had my doubts.... GUESS WHAT? .... SHE WAS RIGHT! I AM HOOKED! 

NOW no one laugh ... stitches are crooked things are wonky, thread is all white because I am still playing...  things clearly aren't perfect. Not to mention the fabric patterns are ok and not favs... BUT I AM IN THE beginning stages of sewing, so I don't want to ruin any super fab. fabric yet. BABY STEPS RIGHT? Ohhh' do i see chevron fabric in my future.... UM' YES!

here is some of the things i have been playing around with just to get a feel for the sewing machine....

FIRST MEET MISS "SUSIE SEW"  YUP' she has a name, we are BFF'S TOO!

 i made a cute stitched paper coupon holder, a cute flower pin, two small purses for Miss Priss and a cute cell phone pouch.

I also had to figure out ruffles... (trial and error of course.) I am girly girl and love me some ruffles. I made Miss Priss a "Alice fabric bracelet."

my sissy.... "ALSO  MY BFF" came over and I made her a cute teal and black fabric bracelet that attach by velcro btw... I made myself the pink zebra one.

AFTER MISS PRISS'S STRAWBERRY SHORTCAKE PARTY... ME AND SUSIE ARE GOING TO HAVE MORE BFF time together.

Hoot Doesn't love a thrift find?

When I get the chance and can go

"KID-LESS" 

( the only way "HELLO" antiques) 

I love to visit my local towns thrift store(s) and spend as long as I can looking at everything and even things with potential. I have been wanting an OWL FOR SOMETIME either to have out all the time or for Halloween...... 

and.....EEK-I scored. The gal at the store had the perfect one in their basement hidden behind a picture and under a table.... HE IS HUGE like a foot and half and was $ 10.00 bucks... now HOOT doesn't love a great find and a great price? 

He wasn't very purdy to begin with...... BUT' that is what spray paint is for. I used Krylon glossy white and Krylon triple thick crystal clear glaze. I think he is a behooty now.

 IT WAS MEANT TO BE ... we were wearing the same colors... BAH' i'm a HOOT!

{Happy Laundry Room Do-oVeR Decor}

 

without spending ONE penny and about 4 hours in my day.....  I freshened up my laundry room and made it more bright and cheery. I love the new "HAPPY COLORS". This post has lots of pics. ....

and BEFORE & AFTERS P.S. I realize some of you may like my before's more, and that is great too.

I used Mustard seed yellow acrylic paint for the magnetic board with a walnut stain and I did the same paint and stain to the stars. I covered the magnetic board with fabric. SUPER EASY.

I put my fabric sheets in an apothecary jar, love it. A basket for lost socks, and a ball jar with old clothes pins for fun. Printable here.
