DIY Painted Patriotic Board

Today I am sharing with you all how I transformed a Plaid wood tile board into a fun Patriotic Tile Board. I love that this particular Plaid piece is so versatile. You can do anything with it and make it for any room, just by painting or embellishing each square board to match the color and theme of your room.


With the 4th of July around the corner I wanted to make it for the fun holiday. I was sent an awesome package from Plaid as part of a fun Plaid campaign buying Plaid products at Walmart. Walmart has a large selection of Plaid products, and it wasn't easy picking out what I wanted to use, but it was certainly fun. Along with my Plaid package, I was sent a $25.00 dollar gift card to Walmart to shop the craft aisle and pick out some fun stuff to get creative with.


Let me now share with you some photos of the craft products, the before, and the after's! 

 I started with this fun PLAID wood tile board! I love it!

There were many steps to creating this tile board, but it was so fun with all the awesome Plaid products that sure helped out. 

HOW COOL IS THAT Sponge applicator tip? just screw it onto your paint bottle and go. No extra mess to make and sponge brush to find. LOVE IT!

 I love the Plaid stencils, I had to use one in my project.

 I am thrilled that Plaid even has chalk paint now. Chalk paint is so much fun.

When I was done with all the painting, stenciling, and letting it all dry, I then sanded it really well with a 250 grit sandpaper. Every piece came out really smooth, and with a more worn rustic look.
